HOW TO GET THERE
Brijuni_islands are reached by boat (sailing time 15 min, service free of charge for the Conference participants) from a small town Fažana (across the island on the mainland). All participants must check-in in Fažana at the office of the National Park Brijuni. Boat passengers are disembarked in front of the hotel Neptun, where is the main reception desk for the hotels Neptun, Istra and Carmen. The conference is held in the "Blue Room" of hotel Istra.
The main city to reach is Pula from where Fažana is some 7 km away. Pula has international_airport with connections to Zagreb and some European cities (budget and charter flights). Taxi pick-up from the Pula airport to Fažana will be organized.
Trieste_airport is about 130 km away from Pula.
If traveling by car the fastest connection to central Europe is via Trieste (Trieste-Kopar-Buje-Pula: 126 km) or from the north-east via Zagreb (Zagreb-Rijeka-Pazin-Pula: 288 km).
Please note that no cars are taken aboard since they are not allowed on the island.
National Park Brijuni has its own parking space in Fažana, which is guarded 24 hours (daily 60 Kn, ~8 €).
Buses run daily between Zagreb and Pula, and Trieste and Pula.
Pula and Fažana are connected by local buses.
There is also a ferry connection from Venice_to_Pula.
